Pit Bull Shot To Death In Lakeland Village

A pit bull in Lakeland Village was shot to death by a deputy Friday during a trespassing investigation, according to a report out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.

The animal was shot after deputies from the station responded to a “criminal” trespassing call Friday around 4:25 p.m. in the 18600 block of Grand Avenue.

“When deputies arrived, several suspects fled onto the property,” according to a sergeant’s report. “While searching the property, a deputy was attacked by a pit bull.

“Fearing for his safety, the deputy fired his service weapon killing the dog. The deceased dog was taken to Animal Friends of the Valley,” the sergeant said.
