Details:

On Sunday, May 29, 2011, at 1:48 PM, city of Lake Elsinore lake patrol officers responded to a call of a capsized boat on the water with four persons in the water. Officers arrived within minutes and located the capsized boat near the four corners portion of the lake. A passing boater was also at the scene. Three of four persons on the capsized boat were on the passing boat yelling that a forth person was still in the water and had gone under. Officers immediately began a search of the water for the fourth person. Sheriff's Aviation and Lake Elsinore Marine Search and Rescue (LEMSAR) were summoned for assistance in hopes of locating the subject.

Investigation revealed that the four persons on the capsized boat, a husband and wife and their two adult sons, were fishing in a small fishing vessel when the vessel began to take on water from high swells caused by the high winds. The vessel attempted to make it back to shore, but had taken on too much water and began to sink. All four attempted to swim to shore. A passing boat saw them and began removing them from the water. The husband, an Asian male, 50 years old, went under water before he could be rescued. The family is from Rancho Cucamonga.

At the time of this release, the subject has not been located and Riverside County Sheriff's Dive Team is actively trying to locate him.
