On Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 3:57 P.M. the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a strong arm robbery in the 17600 block of Collier Avenue, Lake Elsinore. The investigation revealed a Hispanic male adult entered a local business and began looking at jewelry. The suspect grabbed and yanked an item of jewelry from the grasp of an employee and fled the business. The suspect ran to a grey Scion vehicle and fled the area. Incident Location:

Reporting Officer:

Details:

On April 22, 2011, at 1:44 PM, an officer was performing routine patrol in the area when his vehicle's automated license plate reader (ALPR) system was activated while passing an occupied late model Dodge Ram truck, parked in a nearby residential driveway. The vehicle was reported stolen out of the city of Wildomar earlier the same day (WI121130007).

The officer contacted the female occupants identified as Jaime Justus (age 23), a resident of Wildomar, and Kayleigh Boyd (age 26), a resident of Murrieta. When contacted, Justus told the officer she had borrowed the vehicle from a friend; however, her story could not be verified. A computer check of records revealed both subjects had outstanding warrants seeking their immediate arrest.

While conducting an inventory search of the vehicle's contents, a laptop computer and several other property items previously reported as stolen were also recovered. Justus and Boyd were both charged with several counts of being in possession of stolen property. They were later booked at the Southwest Detention Center, located in French Valley. The investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with additional information regarding this event is encouraged to contact the Lake Elsinore Police Department at (951) 245-3300, or after hours and weekends by calling (951) 776-1099.
