Police Chase Ends With Two Arrests
Randy Maletta, 45, of Corona, and his passenger Niki McGaugh, 33, of Lake Elsinore, were arrested near the 200 block of White Oak just after midnight after evading law enforcement in a red Chevy Tahoe.
A police chase in Lake Elsinore early Tuesday morning ended with a crash and two arrests.
Randy Maletta, 45, of Corona, and his passenger Niki McGaugh, 33, of Lake Elsinore, were arrested near the 200 block of White Oak just after midnight after evading law enforcement in a red Chevy Tahoe, according to Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. David Sanches.
According to the report from Sgt. Sanches, at 12:16 a.m. Tuesday, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station stopped Maletta on suspicion of drunk driving near Lake Street and Lakeshore Drive, but the Corona man sped off as a deputy approached the truck, Sgt. Sanches wrote in his report.

A chase ensued and Maletta crashed the truck into a fence and parked vehicle. Once on White Oak, Maletta fled the scene on foot and was found hiding in a nearby field.
He was arrested and booked for vehicle theft, felony evading, possession of stolen property, and possession of methamphetamines.

McGaugh, who was in the truck during the chase, was also arrested and booked for a probation violation.
