Police Check 57 Registered Sex Offenders Living In Elsinore And Temescal Valleys

Compliance checks were conducted Friday on 57 registered sex offenders who report living in either Lake Elsinore, Lakeland Village, Temescal Valley, Goodhope, Meadowbrook or Wildomar, police are reporting.

The checks were done by officers from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol and the Department of Homeland Security to ensure sex offenders are in compliance with the law and registration requirements, according to a news release issued out of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station.

While there were seven people found to be out of compliance, the news release stated officers are conducting further investigation to determine if arrests will be made in those cases.

“A more in-depth investigation is necessary to determine whether these registered offenders will be arrested or found to be in compliance,” the news release states.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public's help to ensure all offenders are in compliance.

“To accomplish this mission, the sheriff’s department works closely with the communities we serve and community input is vital.  Community members are encouraged to report non-emergency suspicious activity to sheriff’s dispatch at 951-776-1099, or by email at LakeElsinoreStation@riversidesheriff.org,” the department reported.
