Police Crack Down At Lake Elsinore Shopping Centers; 4 People Arrested

The Dec. 23 sting took place at various shopping centers across Lake Elsinore.

A police crackdown at Lake Elsinore shopping centers aimed at curbing vehicle break-ins and shoplifting netted four arrests, a sheriff’s sergeant is reporting.

The sting that consisted of extra Lake Elsinore police patrols took place Dec. 23 at the Target shopping center on Collier Avenue, and the Walmart shopping center on Grape Street, according to a report from Sgt. Todd Pauling.

Those arrested were:

Louis Balloue, 67, of Lake Elsinore on suspicion of a drug warrant; Jamey Johnson, 38, of Lake Elsinore on suspicion of drug charges and violation of probation; Anthony Castillo, 18, of Perris on suspicion of burglary and evading arrest; and Faustino Jimenez, 20, of Perris on suspicion of burglary and evading arrest.

As shoppers ready for day-after-Christmas shopping, Pauling had this reminder.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department would like to remind citizens to remain safe during this holiday season by locking their vehicle doors and not leaving items in vehicles. Citizens are asked to report suspicious activity in and around shopping centers by calling 911.”
