Police Pin Alleged Robbery On Lake Elsinore Duo

Bridgette Gutierrez and Gerardo Uribe were each booked on suspicion of robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony, according to jail records.

A man and woman who allegedly attempted to rob a Lake Elsinore retailer are behind bars, police are reporting.

Lake Elsinore residents Bridgette Gutierrez, 25, and Gerardo Uribe, 27, were both arrested following an attempted robbery Wednesday in the 18000 block of Collier Avenue, according to a report from Deputy Joshua Morales of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a call for help from the unnamed retailer at approximately 1:42 p.m. Wednesday, Morales’ report shows. A man and woman, later identified as Uribe and Gutierrez, attempted to steal “a large amount of cosmetics” from the store, and the deputy's report goes on to state the pair assaulted two Target security guards.

A Target store is located at 18287 Collier Ave.

“Through further investigation, an officer with the Lake Elsinore Police Department was able to identify the suspects as Gutierrez and Uribe,” Morales’ report read. “On Thursday, September 26, 2013, Gutierrez and Uribe were located by Lake Elsinore Police at a local park and arrested without incident.”

According to jail records, the pair was picked up at 11:45 a.m. at Lakeshore and Lowell. They were each booked on suspicion of robbery, burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony. Each is being held at Southwest Detention Center in lieu of $30,000 bail, the jail records show.

Both are due in court Sept. 30, according to jail records.
