Police are seeking the boater accused of crashing into a woman who fell into Lake Elsinore Saturday night.
The incident was reported shortly before 8 p.m. in the area of Elm Grove Beach in the 800 block of W. Lakeshore Drive, according to a news release from the Lake Elsinore Police Department.
According to the report, a woman, whose identity has not been released, was a passenger on a “personal watercraft” when she fell off and, while in the water, was hit by a boat.
The boater never stopped, according to police.
The woman was pulled from the water and driven to shore by the personal watercraft operator. Bystanders called 911 and the woman was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, according to the police report.
Her current condition is unknown.
The Lake Elsinore Police Department’s Boating Accident Investigation Team has assumed the investigation and the Lake Elsinore Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the boat operator.
A description of the boat has not been provided by police.
