Police Seek Leads in School Lot Vehicle Burglary

Within an hour of the alleged crime, the victim's credit card was allegedly used at Target in Lake Elsinore, according to police. The suspect allegedly charged more than $400 on the card.

Police have released surveillance footage of a suspect caught charging $400 in goods from a Lake Elsinore Target following a vehicle burglary in which that card was taken at a Murrieta elementary school.

On Aug. 13, a woman told police she'd parked her car in the front lot of , in Murrieta. As she was walking to the rear of the building, she told officers she heard glass breaking.

The suspect allegedly broke a window to gain access to the parked car.

As she walked back to her vehicle, she told officers she saw the suspect speeding out of the parking lot. Her purse had been taken, according to a flier released Sept. 8 by the Murrieta Police Department.

The victim described the suspect as a white male in his 20's with a shaved head or a buzzed haircut.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a Silver Honda, possibly an Accord, with a sun roof, a small antenna on the back of the roof and paper plates.

Surveillance footage obtained from Target shows the male suspect as white or Latino, wearing a dark baseball cap and red athletic jersey with a large white number on the back which appears to be “48” and a name, also in white, over the top of the number, police said.

Police learned the same suspect was allegedly involved in a vehicle burglary on Aug. 23 in Escondido. He is suspected of using that victim’s credit card at a Target located in Escondido.
