The Lake Elsinore Police Department is asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.

A suspected robber who allegedly held up a Lake Elsinore Circle K is being sought by police, and it's hoped the attached surveillance photos will lead to an arrest.

The alleged robbery took place around 3:35 a.m. Monday at the Circle K located at 16331 Lakeshore Drive.

"The suspect entered the Circle K convenience store at this location carrying a machete. He approached the counter and asked for a pack of cigarettes.  When he paid for the cigarettes and the cashier opened the register, the suspect said he had a gun and demanded all the money in the drawer.  After collecting a small amount of cash, the suspect left the business," read a news release from Lt. Zachary Hall of the Lake Elsinore Sheriff's Station.
