Semi-Automatic Weapons Found On Undocumented Immigrant, Border Patrol Alleges

The discovery and subsequent arrest were made by U.S. Border Patrol agents stationed out of Murrieta.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Border Patrol is reporting that a man who entered the country illegally has been arrested outside Temecula on suspicion of possessing semi-automatic weapons.

On Jan. 17, U.S. Border Patrol agents stationed out of the Murrieta office encountered a “suspicious” SUV traveling west on Chihuahua Valley Road, north of Warner Springs, reported agent Mary Beth L. Caston.

“The 40-year-old driver of the 1998 Toyota 4-Runner initially failed to yield when agents attempted to stop the vehicle. The driver subsequently pulled over and attempted to flee from the scene. After a brief foot chase, agents took the driver into custody,” Caston said.

Agents questioned the man, who admitted to being in the United States illegally, Caston said. They searched the SUV and discovered two semi-automatic rifles and two loaded magazines hidden in the rear cargo area, she added.

“The firearms, magazines, and vehicle were seized by the U.S. Border Patrol. The suspect is being held in Department of Homeland Security custody pending Federal charges for possession of firearms by an illegal alien,” Caston said.

The suspect’s identity was not released by authorities.

It was the left overs from the fast and the furious.

Well now...when the Gun Grab goes full court press, there will be lots of gun/ammo smuggling along our southern border---probably more incidents of that to come then drug running, or even Illegal's slipping into the country---and maybe the Illegal's will pack in a kilo of coke up they's azz (or a pile of .223's) , along with a weapon in each hand...and there will be a ready made buyer base inside The U.S., snatching up the contraband, just as quick as it gets here...Draconian Laws ALWAYS open up opportunities in The Black Market.

I hate to jump the gun (no pun intended), but I don't think these firearms were intended for anything good! That's a lot of firepower to have in your vehicle.
Reverend Smith January 23, 2013 at 03:27 AM
One thing's for sure. He wasn't planning on heading back over the border soon with those pieces in his car. Mexican authorities would have that guy waterboarded and put in a cell with Ben Dover if they found that arsenal in his car.

Great, now we taxpayers get to support this guy for a few years until he is released due to overcrowding.

Illegal entry=crime. Criminal alien. We get the garbage from Latin American society, the ones seeking easier prey and more merciful justice system. They are criminal aliens. they must do 10 years hard labor in work camps, then deported, After that, they won;t consider returning. Most countries of the world follow this example, US is arrogant not to..

Scary. Makes me wonder about those they do not catch! Agree with Long Time Local and Tbone! What a country free guns and education for non-citizens.
Antonio January 23, 2013 at 08:47 PM
Then there would be no disincentive to try to enter again. No, we should give these dangerous people long prison time.
Reverend Smith January 23, 2013 at 09:29 PM
It's worse than that. If he is illegal, he'll be given a free ride back to his home town in Mexico where' he'll transfer money from his US bank account to pay a coyote to sneak him back in under a new identity.
Reverend Smith January 23, 2013 at 09:34 PM
Wherever it is, money can buy you legal representation to get you out of jail. And from the looks of his ride and the guns, they were all new and expensive. He's probably in court right now with his 'dream team' securing his release. He's probably member of some drug cartel with the money and weapons at the ready. But US authorities will never know and Mexico doesn't care. No, I take that back. If Mexico does know, they want nothing more that for him to stay in the US where he'll be sending money (by the truckload) back to Mexico.

This sounds familliar. Subject trys to flee ? He admits to being in the country illegally. The subje t has two semi auto firearms in possession. This is the Difference between : An Illegal immigrant & an immigrant. Illegals don't care who they hurt or what laws they break. A legal immigrant follows the laws. Laws are put into place to protect people. I'm Pro immigration & anti illegal immigration. You see the reason. GOD Bless America & Thank You USBP for protecting our borders & this great country of ours.

We need to take every illegal housed in our prisons and put them to work on the new WALL. Like in the ole chain gang days where they worked for their keep. Gordon Ramsey is doing a cooking show in a Britain Prison, 88,000 prisoned there and the first part was on last night. He was in shock of course that prisoners do NOTHING to earn their keep in prison and get a choice of 5 entree's for vegatarians, vegans, fish, chicken beef type of meals. With full 5 course meals. So he is trying this thing with the prisoners where they cook/bake something, undecided as yet, for prisoners to sell to pay their way. Good idea but you cannot force them to do it right? OH, because they have rights? LOL, well the entire systems sucks and we allow it, and dont do anything about it. Wish we did and our US citizens were not going hungry. I had a discussion too on the HP about just this subject about how guns also get sold from Mexico to here. Several argued it and said why would they do that when they get guns free from the USA Government. Well Doh, cause they get them free from the USA government? Rofl. The trade of guns from Mexico to US is not anywhere near the drugs but it brings up a close 5th or something, in the range of cigarettes but it is a problem and just makes gun control a laugh. Unless we ever do something about illegals, illegal trade, the US giving everything away, all of this is just going to get worse and worse. Bottom line.

Adrian do you believe anyone in this country illegally is going to be doing some legal? Of course they are not intended for anything good for heavens sake. They not only traffic drugs of every kind, traffic guys up here to work for the Jeffe's in the houses or plants manufacturing the drugs(house busted the other day with over 45 in it), human traffic of women for prostitution and for working in the drug manufacturing facilities to serve the workers from all ages, but they also traffic weapons. Rev. Smith, Wouldnt you like to see what the Mexican government/policia would do to an American carrying anything like this down into Mexico? He sure would not get free meals and let out in 4 yrs to do it again.

Dawn, agree with all you wrote.
Ken January 27, 2013 at 03:25 AM
They will probably give him a Obuma medicare card and tell him he may have to leave the country after he finishs college on a grant authorized by Jermy Brown. But if he has some anchor babies before he finishes school he can stay as long as he likes or untill the ADC dept runs out of support money for children of illegal immigrants.
