A tipster this weekend lead sheriff's deputies to a home in Good Hope where an alleged cockfight was about to start and the homeowner was cited.

Deputies were dispatched at 7:25 a.m. Sunday to the 21000 block of Club Drive where a number of spectators bolted when they pulled up.

The homeowner, Reynaldo Munoz, 52, remained in the backyard and was arrested. Deputies then cited Munoz in connection with the cockfight and released him, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Linda Maria Hughes said.

All 48 roosters at the location were seized and taken to the county animal control office where they were euthanized, Hughes said.

AFV had nothing to do with this case. As per the article, the roosters went to the County animal shelter, where they were put down. County and AFV are two diff entities.

Anyone care to guess how many chickens are bred and killed just for the legs and wings per year? Animals are to eat. I'm all for humane treatment/killing, don't get me wrong. But in the big scheme of things, this matters very little.
