'Smash And Grab' Suspects Arrested Following More Than 80 Alleged Burglaries Across IE

The burglaries were "smash and grab" style, where the suspects used a crowbar to gain entry through the rear door of a business and steal cash registers, ATM machines and safes, usually in less than 10 minutes.

A man police say may be linked to more than 80 commercial burglaries across the Inland Empire has been arrested.

Darnell White, 31, of San Bernardino was picked up Sept. 18 by investigators from the Perris Sheriff’s Station following a search warrant service at a home on Harris Street in San Bernardino.

According to police, the search uncovered “evidence crucial to an ongoing multi-agency investigation into a series of over 80 commercial burglaries.”

White was arrested in connection with the investigation, and according to a report from Sgt. Glenn Williams of the Perris Sheriff’s Station, the suspect "is a documented gang member with prior arrests for robbery and weapons violations. He was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for burglary, conspiracy and parole violations. His bail was set at $100,000."

Three other suspects in the case had been arrested Sept. 17 by Riverside Police, according to Williams, although their names were not released in his report. White and the three are suspected of committing numerous commercial burglaries in the cities of Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris, Menifee, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana and San Bernardino during the past several months, according to Williams.
