Suspects In Wildomar Beating Death To Stand Trial

Two adults and a 13-year-old boy are accused of killing Steve Markley with a baseball bat last year.

Two suspects in the beating death of a man in an abandoned house in Wildomar will be stand trial after a judge’s ruling on Friday, The Press-Enterprise reported.

Another suspect, 13-year-old boy, is being tried for the same murder and conspiracy charges in juvenile court. Garcia and Stephens have pleaded not guilty.

The three suspects and Markley were drinking in a house off Mariposa Road when an argument began over a bottle of vodka, according to court testimony. Prosecutors said the attack was planned because Markley was expected to testify against Warner’s older brother in an assault case.
