Thieves Make Off With Wildomar Boy Scout Troop's Trailer

The troop discovered it was missing Tuesday night.

Wednesday Update: Doug Ames

Original story as follows:

Some Wildomar Boy Scouts won't be able to take their next camping trip, thanks to the work of some burglars.

Troop 332's trailer was stolen, and with it all of the boy scouts' camping equipment and related supplies, Wildomar Councilwoman Bridgette Moore tells Patch.

According to Moore, who is the treasurer for the group, the discovery was made Tuesday night, as the troop showed up for their 6 p.m. meeting.

The trailer, described as a converted toy hauler, was parked at the local VFW parking lot where it always stays "...and has always been fine until this weekend," Moore said.

The last time anyone remembers spotting the trailer was late Friday night, she said, adding that no one reported it missing because they assumed the boys were out camping.

"We were supposed to go camping next Friday," she said.  "But not now."

Moore hopes that someone may have spotted the vehicle around town, and might be able to help police track it down.

"We're thinking it might still be in the area," she said.
