UPDATE: Man Who Died In Fire Wednesday Ruled Suicide

The man, whose name was not released pending positive identification, was found dead in the charred bedroom of his home at 35001 El Dorado Road in the Cleveland National Forest.

The death of an 84-year-old man found in a burned home west of Lake Elsinore was determined to be a suicide, according to a county coroner's report released today. Three separate Wednesday morning blazes in the Lake Elsinore area have resulted in tragedy.

An early morning residential fire at 35001 El Dorado Road west of Lake Elsinore left one civilian dead, according to Riverside County Fire Department/Cal Fire spokeswoman Jody Hagemann.

The fire was reported at 6:01 a.m. this morning.

According to Hagemann, when fire officials arrived on the scene, they reported “one civilian suffered fatal injuries.”

The cause of that fire is under investigation.

Another blaze, which is burning west of Lake Elsinore in the Cleveland National Forest, is a controlled burn being conducted by the U.S. Forest Service.

According to a U.S. Forest Service official, that fire is located near the South Main Divide and SR 74. It will continue to burn until approximately 3 p.m. today.

at 29260 Northpointe Street in Lake Elsinore had firefighters scrambling in the pre-dawn hours.

That residential fire was reported at 1:02 a.m. It resulted in no injuries and was contained to just an attic and bedroom. The cause of that blaze is under investigation.
