TRAFFIC: Toyota Tangles With Street Sweeper On 15 Freeway In Lake Elsinore
A two-vehicle crash involving a Toyota Tacoma and a street sweeping truck on the northbound 15 Freeway resulted in heaving traffic Thursday afternoon through Lake Elsinore.
The crash reported at 2:58 p.m. occurred just north of Central Avenue and caused heavy backup through the city.

According to California Highway Patrol Officer Brian Keene, a witness said the street sweeper driver merged onto the northbound 15 from Central Avenue. Shortly after merging from the slow to the #3 lane, the street sweeper driver felt a rear impact, the witness told Keene.
The Toyota Tacoma driver was transported to an area hospital, but Keene did not know the extent of his injuries.

There were no additional injuries reported.
According to a logo on the street sweeper, the truck belonged to Temecula-based Inland Erosion Control Inc.
The crash is currently under investigation by the CHP.
