Two Arrested In Attempted Theft At Target Store

The pair are accused of trying to steal electronics from a Lake Elsinore Target store.

Two men were arrested in front of the Target store Monday morning in Lake Elsinore as they attempted to steal a number of electronic items, a Riverside Sheriff’s news release said.

Lake Elsinore police arrested Llewelldoyn Brewster, 33, and Lation Brown, 19, both of Perris.

On Monday at 10:09 A.M. officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department were dispatched to the Target store on Collier Ave. in the city of Lake Elsinore in reference to a burglar in-progress call. When officers arrived, they secured the location and detained two subjects as they walked from the store.

An investigation revealed that the subjects detained had taken several electronic items from the store shelves, placed them into a cart and tried to exit an emergency door, Sheriffs’ said. As officers began arrive, the subjects abandoned their cart and attempted to exit the store.

Reports from witnesses said two additional subjects involved fled in a 2004-2006 champagne-colored Chevrolet Suburban. These subjects were described as Hispanic or light-skinned black males.
