Two Drivers Arrested for Alleged Drunken Driving at Lake Elsinore Checkpoint
Sheriff's deputies began their operation at 7 p.m. Friday at Mission Trail and Malaga Road, east of Interstate 15, and ended it at 2 a.m.
Two alleged drunken drivers were arrested at an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Lake Elsinore that ended early Saturday.
Sheriff's deputies began their operation at 7 p.m. Friday at Mission Trail and Malaga Road, east of Interstate 15, and ended it at 2 a.m.
A total of 538 vehicles went through the checkpoint, and only 19 of them were screened.

Two motorists, a 24-year-old Lake Elsinore man and a 42-year-old Hemet man, flunked their field sobriety tests while 11 other motorists passed, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Peter Giannakakos said.
Ten people were cited for driving without a license or a suspended one, and 10 vehicles were impounded and towed, Giannakakos said.
