Unrestrained Driver Dies At Crash Scene

The 41-year-old man was reportedly not wearing a safety belt when he collided with another vehicle Tuesday morning.

A Homeland man was killed in a collision involving an SUV and another vehicle in San Jacinto, authorities said today.

William Steele, 41, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred about 10:45 p.m. Tuesday at State Street and Esplanade Avenue, according to the Riverside County Coroner's Bureau.

Steele, who apparently was not wearing a seatbelt, was driving the SUV when it collided with the other vehicle, and he was ejected onto the roadway, the coroner's bureau reported.

The circumstances of the crash were under investigation by the San Jacinto Police Department.
