An investigation was continuing Thursday into the accidental shooting death of a 5-year-old boy at a residence in a rural community near Perris, where several hundred marijuana plants were found growing in the back yard, sheriff's officials said.

The shooting was reported around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 31000 block of Wolfskill Avenue in Nuevo. The child was found dead inside the residence, and his death was being investigated as accidental, Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Albert Martinez said.

Marijuana plants were found at the rear of the property, but marijuana had nothing to do with the shooting, he said. About 200 plants were confiscated, he said.

NBC4 reported that the boy found the gun and accidentally shot himself with the weapon. The child's grandfather was the only adult home at the time, according to Channel 4.

Investigators were seen Wednesday carting off computers and other evidence, as well as the marijuana found in the yard.

Alek, I posted on your blog entry, albeit, a benign post, but I agree with belle. I'd love to have a forum, hosted by you, to openly discuss topics such as the one you posted before. As I said before, YOU caused me to create a profile here and I enjoy reading what you have to share.

Hell no,. that would be horrible, having a bunch of Alek J Hidell's belittling and mocking my every word. I might be a sociopath but I'm not crazy!

Jeremiah, I must apologize. I definitely misjudged you by your original comment. I agree with the people who enjoy Alek sharing his outside the box opinions. I'm actually much more annoyed and bothered by people who seem to try their hardest to find issues to take offense to and then complain about it.

true--Alek, but you do had a novelty here…the guy (almost) everyone loves to hate. Until they finally stop and actually listen and think about what you're saying and doing. Personally, I think you can handle it. I also think it would be the most popular blog, but you're right--for reasons not doing with the topic but rather personal attacks against you, as usual. Also--it would be horrific to have more than one Alek!! Mostly because others don't "get" what you're doing or saying so they react with offense based on how it makes them "feel" so the ones who try to copycat are just basic trolls, and not very good ones. I can name a handful right now. hahaha Anyway- I respect your authenticity even though I don't always like what you say or even agree, and most of the time it doesn't "feel" comfortable, but like Ron said--you make me look past myself, it challenges me to not judge based on who "I" am, but instead try to get who you are. Now I do have an honest question--if you're willing to answer. Are you truly a follower of the Islam belief? And, why the obsession (can't think of a better word... preoccupation? fixation?) with Oswald, or is it Cuba, or is it JFK?
