Water Truck And Trailer Overturn On Clinton Keith Road; Lanes Blocked In Wildomar

Lanes are closed Thursday afternoon on eastbound Clinton Keith Road at Palomar Street in Wildomar after a dump truck driver towing a water tender on a flatbed trailer lost control of his load.

According to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department Captain John Duncan, the dump truck driver was headed south on Palomar Street and attempted a left turn onto Clinton Keith Road, headed toward the freeway. During the turn, the trailer flipped and the water tender with it. The trailer and tender landed on their sides in lanes on eastbound Clinton Keith Road.

The tender was partially filled and water may have shifted during the turn, according to Les Chapman of Wildomar's public works department.

There were no injuries, Duncan said.

The mishap was reported shortly after 4 p.m. At press time, the water tender is still on its side in the roadway.

The dump truck has a “Hermanos Grading Incorporated, Mira Loma” insignia painted on it; the driver said he works for the company.

Motorists should expect delays and possible closures on Clinton Keith Road as workers upright the water tender and clear lanes, according to Chapman.

Chapman said the trucks involved in today's crash were not a part of the at gets underway tonight starting at 8 p.m.
