Hilton and Waits were heading to the courthouse to testify in the trial of Nathan Lee Parada of Redlands. He was arrested Aug. 24, after Hilton called police to report that someone was outside her Los Angeles home. The heiress wrote on her Twitter page that day that she "just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes (sic). Cops are here arresting him.''

In Van Nuys Superior Court today, Parada was convicted of one count of attempted first-degree residential burglary for the foiled break-on.

The jury deliberated less than an hour before finding Parada, 32, guilty. He faces up to three years in state prison, with sentencing set for June 29. --City News Service and Toni McAllister contributed to this report.
