Woman Ejected On 15 Freeway In Wildomar

According to authorities, it appears the woman was not wearing a seatbelt.

A 50-year-old Cypress woman who crashed and was ejected on the I-15 in Wildomar Friday night was apparently not wearing a seatbelt, according to CHP.

The solo-vehicle accident involving a black Ford Explorer occurred just after 8:30 p.m. between Baxter and Clinton Keith roads on the southbound side of the freeway.

The SUV rolled at least one time, ejecting the female driver, authorities said.

“According to a witness, the vehicle lost a piece of tire tread from the back right tire,” said California Highway Patrol Officer Larry Vicino. “The vehicle then veered into the center divider, disappearing into a cloud of dust as the SUV rolled and landed upright.”

The woman was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center in traumatic full arrest, authorities said.

The woman's husband, also 50, was in the SUV's passenger seat. He was seatbelted and suffered only minor injuries, according to authorities.

“There’s nothing at the scene that indicates alcohol or drugs to be a factor,” Vicino said.
