2 Large Development Projects In Wildomar Slated For Discussion

Westpark Promenade Development proposes 322 condominiums, a four-story office building, and two restaurants on a 27-acre site; the Villa Sienna Apartment Project calls for 180 apartments on a 9-acre site.

A construction project that proposes 322 condominiums, a four-story office building, and two restaurants, as well as a separate project that calls for 180 new apartments, will be discussed Oct. 16 by the Wildomar Planning Commission.

Both development proposals are coming before the commissioners next week because each project requires land-use and zone changes before either can move forward.

The larger of the two proposed projects is Westpark Promenade Development located at the northeast corner of the 15 Freeway at Catt Road. The project applicant, Golden Eagle Multi-Family Properties LLC, is seeking development of the condos, office building and restaurants on the 27.6-acre site.

In order to get moving, the applicant is requesting a land-use designation change from “Commercial Office” to “Very High Density Residential” on 21.26 acres of the site. A zoning designation change from “Scenic Highway Commercial” to “General Residential” is also needed on those 21.26 acres. Subdividing the property into four parcels is being requested.

On the second project that calls for 180 apartments at the northeast corner of Elizabeth Lane and Prielipp Road, Golden Eagle is also the applicant.

Called the Villa Sienna Apartment Project, the applicant is proposing zoning and land-use designation changes on the 9.22-acre site. The proposal is to amend the existing land-use designation from “Medium High Density Residential” to “Very High Density Residential,” and to change zoning from “Industrial Park” to “General Residential.”

If the commissioners approve the requests, the issues will still need to come before the city council.
