91 Freeway To Close Thursday Night

A1 11:45 p.m. Friday, the eastbound 91 will be shut down.

Work on a railroad bridge will require crews to partially shut down the Riverside (91) Freeway near downtown Riverside later this week, and motorists today were advised to consider mapping out alternate routes.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Thursday, Caltrans will close the westbound 91 at Central Avenue to allow crews to erect a structural supports for a new rail crossing at Pachappa Drive. The closure will be in effect until 5 a.m. Friday.

Motorists will be detoured off the 91 at 14th Street, taking side streets adjacent to the freeway until they're clear of the construction zone.
