Hi LBV, Bryan Henry has not done the research needed to understand Obama and his motives, Obama is more complicated than he knows. Dr. Souza realized this and did extensive research to back up his explanation of Obama's motives and actions. In many of Obama's early speeches he stated " We can now start the hard work of remaking America", not rebuilding, remaking, really, how arrogant. While pursing his radical agenda he broke his promises to the people, and added a trillion dollars of debt each year in office. { Amateur with big ideas} His affordable care act did not address the defects in the system. What about the long term explosive medicare costs, as the baby boomers retire, and what about the the fee for service model that drives health care. Did he and his team think about inflation and the link from employment to insurance that that explains why Americans lack coverage. WE NEED JOBS! What about the shortage of doctors, as an R.N. I see that now. Liability insurance for doctors is excessive, but doctors need it to protect them from our lawyers. Obama has to go, he has caused so much damage it's hard to believe. We don't have Obama care we have Pelosi care, stuffed with pork for her pet projects, and filled with outrageous laws. It wont save money that is a lie, it will cost trillions.

LBV Collins August 28, 2012 at 06:58 PM
Hi Jill. Obamacare is not Pelosi-care; It’s Romney-care, which is based on the Heritage Foundation’s plan (a conservative think tank). It was a great conservative idea back in 1989, but now that a democratic president actually implemented it nationwide, it’s suddenly going to lead to the Fall Of America. I don’t believe that. I also don’t believe all the Obama conspiracy theory hype promulgated by the Radical Right. The radicals that have overtaken the GOP are constantly, steadily beating the “Nobama” drum, working hard to mesmerize voters with their Siren Song that Obama must go at all costs, and that anyone… even a moderate like Mitt… is better than Obama. So, Jill, while you are convinced that Obama is SO bad, can you do me a favor and explain why Romney is SO good? I doubt you can. Why? Because I have yet to hear anyone explain why Romney is superior to Obama. (And, no, you can’t use the excuse that “He’s not Obama!”) BTW: If you enjoy conspiracy theories, you should watch the movie, “The Manchurian Candidate,” with Denzel Washington. Long story short, (SPOILER ALERT!) a powerful corporation conspires to assassinate the newly elected president so that the newly elected vice president (who is controlled by the corporation) becomes president. (Hmmm… I wonder how disappointed the Tea Party conservatives would be if something happened to the moderate Romney and their ultra conservative poster boy Ryan then became the de facto president?)
jill smith August 29, 2012 at 08:07 AM
Hi LBV What do you mean by conspiracy theory? The fact that 10 too big to fail financial institutions are responsible for 3/4 of total financial assets under management in the U.S. Is that a conspiracy? Is it a conspiracy that 100 billion dollars that should go to small businesses goes to Fortune 500/1000 companies? Is it a conspiracy that Romney and Obama are both very aware of this? and do nothing because the Corporate Media owners wont allow the main stream media to say a word. Is it a conspiracy that what propels the economy is small companies , and since funds are withheld and tons of regulations make it hard for them to survive many result in failure. Wow there are so many truths that you may see as conspiracies, life must be very confusing to you. Obama is hurting small companies while he talks about those evil rich people, but refuses to say who they are. He is a phony and a fraud, or maybe just a dumb amateur. He sure is fooling you, and buy the way I have no illusions about Romney, but at least he can create a job, and wont be obsessed with remaking America the greatest nation on earth., like the insanely arrogant radical chasing a myth Obama. Here is a fact for you LBV our nations economy depends on small businesses and they create 90% of new jobs. Obama whom you worship is doing everything he can to destroy small business, as he talks about the big bad corporations. You know why he gets away with this, because people are dumb deaf and blind.
jill smith August 29, 2012 at 08:22 AM
Dr Souza makes sense. Obama is expanding the power of state at home, while shrinking the power of America in the world. It takes thought and research to try and understand something, but it's easy to cry conspiracy, can't stand people like that, so if you want to banter with me don't accuse me of that.
LBV Collins August 29, 2012 at 09:28 PM
Hi Jill. First, a few facts: 1. I don’t worship Obama. 2. I’m a Republican… a moderate like Romney (though Romney doesn’t want to talk about that right now). 3. I don’t believe in conspiracy theories. My references to conspiracy theories was due to your apparent enthusiasm over D’Souza's movie… which strikes me as just one more of the many Obama conspiracy theories—Obama was born in Kenya; Obama is a socialist; Obama is a Muslim, etc.—which implied to me that you like to entertain conspiracy theories. If I misjudged you, I apologize. Also, I’m a bit confused by your comment. On the one hand, you seem to say that Big Banks and Big Corporations are the ones damaging our Country (I certainly won’t argue against that point), but then seem to blame Obama… as if everything was fine until he became president. You also cast Romney in the same light as Obama. (Here again, I won’t argue against that point.) But what confuses me is that Obama and Romney are our only choices, yet you seem destined to vote against Obama… and for Romney, I assume? Do I misunderstand? So are you against BOTH Obama and Romney? Regarding small businesses… I LOVE small businesses. (I worked for small businesses all my life.) But I think your claim that “small businesses… create 90% of new jobs” is in error. According to the SBA, small businesses “Generated 65 percent of net new jobs over the past 17 years.” [1] 1. http://web.sba.gov/faqs/faqIndexAll.cfm?areaid=24

jill smith August 30, 2012 at 08:11 AM
Hi LBV, A small business is 500 employees and many businesses are smaller than that, don't forget those. The government web sites talk about the 500+ small companies. Many other small co. are crushed by new regulations from Obama's team. Don't forget the family and mom and pop businesses, that's a big part of the economy, these companies need help, and it's not there. The regulations also affect negatively the the 500+ companies, what good is a loan if you can't pay it back secondary to a sluggish economy. Obama has failed to create jobs, to vote for him again in my opinion is foolish, he has made things worse. Obama has radical ideas and I believe that, and his lack of experience have contributed to his failures. Obama want's to remake America, he has an anti american ideology and he failed miserably. So what's left Romney, at least Romney and Ryan are willing to address the seriousness of the debt, obama will add more to it, and anyone that votes for him in my opinion is an absolute fool.
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 10:39 AM
The SBA does not account for the businesses with less than 500 people. When you take those into account, the number goes up to 90%
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 02:26 PM
Hi Jill. You have a fundamental misunderstanding of how the SBA defines a small business. It ONLY takes into account businesses with FEWER than 500 employees. As noted on the SBA’s FAQ page, question one: “1. What is a small business? The Office of Advocacy defines a small business as an independent business having fewer than 500 employees.” [1] That means more than zero, but less than 500. If a business has 500 or more employees, then it’s no longer considered a small business. Hmmm… What was the advice you gave me? Oh, right: “It takes thought and research to try and understand something.” Good advice. 1. http://web.sba.gov/faqs/faqIndexAll.cfm?areaid=24
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 02:43 PM
If it were only that simple LBV, there are pages of documents, and it depends on the type of business and alot of other factors. The fact is it's not working, and Obama is not creating jobs. He's failing, I wish more people realized that. If he wins get ready for more failure.
Anon August 30, 2012 at 02:47 PM
We are in a decline, Obama has no reason to do a better job in the next four years, he gains nothing. If he wins we are screwed! He had his chance, if he loved his country and cared about anyone but himself, he would walk away now.
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 03:11 PM
On the link #10 How do regulations affect small firms is an example of why small firms fail under these regulations.
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 03:19 PM
The definition of small business used in government programs and contracts states it varies by industry. The SBA states less than 500, but are we missing the point here all the regulations are hurting businesses.
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 03:21 PM
The issue I have with your position, Jill, is that you're solely blaming Obama for our current sluggish economy and high unemployment, when the truth is the GOP-controlled House (which is heavily influenced by Tea Party Republicans) has had a heavy hand in our current economic predicament. Their uncompromising "It's our way or the highway," approach to running our Country is irresponsible leadership, at best. You can't simply lay the entire blame on Obama and fantasize that the obvious solution is to vote him out and vote Mitt in. In my opinion, the Republican Party--MY Party--needs to purge itself of these ultra-conservative right-wing radicals so we can get our government functioning again, our economy growing, and put more people back to work.
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 03:24 PM
Well, Jill... I'm glad to learn that you followed my link. (I thought you would find that statistic interesting.) :)
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 03:46 PM
Seeing how badly he has failed is not a fantasy it is reality, and he is still blaming Bush 5 trillion dollars later. He's your guy LBV so vote for him.
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 05:21 PM
If he's failed badly, Jill, the ultra-conservatives have played an important role in orchestrating that failure. You do remember what our economy was like when Bush left office, right? You do remember that our Country... the world, in fact... was on the brink of financial collapse, right? But, hey, if you want to ignore history (that occurred just a few short years ago), then go for it. Please continue to believe the propaganda put out by the conservative extremists. After all, I'm sure they have your best interests at heart. You know, no taxes for wealthy (because they're the "Job Creators"). A really strong military... that everyone BUT the wealthy gets to pay for. (I'm for a strong military, by the way... I just want the wealthy to pay their fair share.) No Medicare taxes and no Social Security taxes... so that the wealthy can pass that tax burden onto... well, everyone else but themselves and their corporations. (It doesn't matter that I paid into the system for 40 years, right? It's a Ponzi scheme masked as an entitlement program... an entitlement that I haven't earned... and that I definitely don't deserve, right?)
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 05:22 PM
Then there's the social re-engineering aspect of the Republican Platform. Eliminate homosexuals (outlaw them, reorient their behavior, deny them equal rights... whatever it takes to get rid of them is fine). Pass laws... hell a constitutional amendment... that gives more rights to a fertilized egg than to a living, breathing, woman. Get prayer back in schools! (Ahem… I mean Christian prayer. None of that Muslim prayer. In fact, we need to officially define our nation as a Christian nation, which is what the Founding Fathers had intended, right?) And while we’re getting Christian prayer back into our schools, we need to get science out of it. (Everyone knows God created the universe… who needs to know anymore than that?) And everyone knows that God created Adam and THEN created Eve to SERVE Adam… and if God created women to be subservient to men, then the ultra-conservatives will pass the laws to make that happen. (After all, they’re just doin’ God’s work, right?)
LBV Collins August 30, 2012 at 05:24 PM
I believe our economy is on the mend and has been for quite some time. It will continue to grow and get stronger, no matter who’s in office. If Obama wins, then Democrats will claim it was their policies. If Romney wins, then Republicans will take the credit for “turning things around.” So I’m not so much concerned about our economic growth as I am the society that we’ll live in. And the ultra-conservatives, with their hatred of anyone who is not Christian and is not heterosexual, for their disdain of educated, successful women, and their distaste of secular science, want to turn our nation into their vision of paradise… and to hell with the rest of us. They want to turn our democracy into their theocracy. Remember, Jill: I'm a Republican. A 30+ year veteran of the GOP. But if I have to vote for Obama to keep the Radical Right from destroying our freedoms, then that's what I'll do.
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 07:00 PM
I agree it is a ponzi scheme and Obama should be saying that. To much drama LBV most people think homosexuality is genetic. You believe the radical extreme left, I think I'am more middle of the road. No one is going to take away birth control, many women are educated and hold careers, are they going to suddenly become stupid, have a little more faith in women geez. I will take christian beliefs over a radical anti American ideology any day, that is what our country was founded on, and America is the greatest nation on earth. Obama wants to remake it. 6 trillion dollars, and still blaming Bush, and you are too. Come on LBV the economy is not on the mend, you've got to know that.
jill smith August 30, 2012 at 07:09 PM
Both Republicans and Democrats are responsible for the mess we're in, an approval rating of 9% it can't get much worse than that. We need leadership Obama failed 4 more years no way. I agree to disagree
Caroline G. Ross September 12, 2012 at 01:03 AM
Not only did the jerk not interview Obama and never even him, but he freely admits, most of his crap is supposition.
Caroline G. Ross September 12, 2012 at 01:13 AM
All this right-wing rhetoric doesn't matter. Obama/Biden is going to clean Romney/Ryan's collective clock. WE...WILL...WIN! Open up, chew, swallow. It's going to happen. That Democratic Convention was NOT an hallucination. We have risen and turned the tide. That point spread is just going to get wider and wider, especially after the debates when the President wipes the floor, figuratively speaking, of course, with Romney, and Biden teaches Ryan a thing or two. I can hardly wait. What a BLAST that's going to be. It will be Sarah Palin all over again. You guys can sure pick 'em.
Robert S September 29, 2012 at 10:38 PM
I realize I'm a month late, but a fascinating back and forth between jill smith and LBV Collins... You both made your ideological points, but obvious to me and I think should be to everyone LBV has the facts and is very well informed. LBV, at least in my book you are the clear winner of this debate. Thanks
