Final Quarry Vote Postponed

The vote would finalize a decision made Aug. 31 that put a stop to the Liberty Quarry project, a strip mining operation proposed by Northern California-based Granite Construction for a 415-acre site just south of Temecula.

A vote that could finalize the denial of a quarry planned near Temecula was postponed today.

The decision will be made during a meeting scheduled for 9 am. on Dec. 7 at the county administration building, 4080 Lemon St. in Riverside.

The rescheduled the vote during a meeting today because the planning department's staff needed more time to get the paperwork ready, according to county documents.
