Full Freeway Closure Scheduled Tonight At Ortega Highway
A detour is planned tonight to accommodate motorists.
Motorists who commute to Orange County from Riverside County using the Ortega Highway are advised that construction crews are closing the northbound and southbound I-5 freeway at SR-74 tonight.
During the full closure that begins at 11:59 p.m. Friday and extends through 6 a.m. Saturday, the northbound and southbound I-5 on- and off-ramps will not be accessible to traffic. In addition, Ortega Highway between Del Obispo Street and Rancho Viejo Road in San Juan Capistrano, will also be closed to traffic.
Caltrans is reporting the full closure is necessary in order to complete concrete pours on the Ortega Highway bridge.
