Happy 125th Birthday Lake Elsinore!

Here's a list of some of the birthday happenings that begin this week:

Lake Elsinore is one old gal: she's celebrating her 125th birthday this month! In fact, no city in Riverside County is older except the City of Riverside.

Given Lake Elsinore's grand age, there are many celebrations scheduled. Here's a list of some of the happenings that begin this week:

During the regularly scheduled Lake Elsinore City Council meeting Tuesday night, which will be held at a special venue -- the Diamond Club located at 500 Diamond Drive -- there will be proclamations and presentations to celebrate 125 years. Additionally, at the meeting's conclusion, Lake Elsinore's own Craft Brewing Company will unveil a special "125th Anniversary Brew."

The fun will continue April 11-14 as Frontier Days kicks off at the new La Laguna Resort & Boat Launch located at 32040 Riverside Drive. Frontier Days is an annual festival that celebrates Lake Elsinore's heritage. [Click here to read about last year's event.] Plan on attending the event for a special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Friday, April 12 at 5:30 p.m., when special anniversary lapel pins will be handed out to the first 125 visitors to the city’s booth.

Coinciding with the kickoff of Frontier Days is the Lake Elsinore Storm's first home opener of its 20th season of baseball at The Diamond. On April 11, the home team will take on the Inland Empire 66ers. Game time is 7:05 p.m. and tickets are available.
