Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Under Review

The review is part of a regular annual process as mandated by the city.

An annual review of the Conditional Use Permit for the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is underway.

During the Tuesday night Lake Elsinore Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners will discuss the city findings and consider the park operator’s compliance with the permit.

According to a city staff report, no “significant deficiencies” have been found at the park, but some conditions are out of compliance. Park operators have addressed the issues, but minor fixes are still needed, the report stated.

The two “critical” outstanding issues are final grading approval and approval of analysis that demonstrates the impact the track is having on the “flood volume capacity at the lake’s back basin,” according to the documents.

No action will be taken by the commissioners at the Oct. 15 meeting, however they will be providing comments and the public is invited to weigh in. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Senior Activities Center, 420 E. Lakeshore Drive. Click here to review the city documents for the meeting.
