Live Fire Training Causing Explosions, Noise

Camp Pendleton training exercises are causing thunder-type noise across Southwest Riverside County.

Camp Pendleton Marines are conducting live fire training exercises at the base this week, and depending on atmospheric conditions, the sound of the explosions may be amplified and heard up to 50 miles away.

The following is the training schedule this week:

Tuesday, June 25

            -Artillery Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight

Thursday, June 27

            -Mortar Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight

            -Artillery Fire = 6 a.m. to midnight
