Melissa Melendez Tells Supporters She's The Candidate With Experience

The campaign for 67th Assembly District candidate Melissa Melendez is reporting that nearly 100 family, friends, supporters and elected officials turned out Saturday at the Lake Elsinore Outlets for the
Speakers at the event included Senator Joel Anderson, former State Senator Dave Kelley, Canyon Lake Councilwoman Nancy Horton, Temecula Valley Republican Women Federated President Valerie Skovron and representatives of the Romney for President and Emken for Senate campaigns, the campaign reported.
In a news release from the Melendez campaign, Senator Joel Anderson (R-Alpine) reportedly told the crowd gathered, "Melissa is important. She's important to this state and she's important to this country. Melissa knows the principles of our party, but doesn’t just use them as talking points. She lives them and leads by them. Melissa has demonstrated an ability to make the tough choices. She is the right choice for the 67th Assembly District."

Anderson's 36th District includes Lake Elsinore.
According to the news release, Stu Spencer, senior adviser and campaign manager to President Ronald Reagan, held a brief "tutorial" for campaign volunteers and shared with Saturday's crowd his insight and proposed plan to "help lead Melendez to victory."

“Each campaign has several key elements, including a great candidate and the right message,” Spencer reportedly said. “You have a great candidate with the right message in Melissa.”
According to the campaign, Melendez tried to distance herself from GOP challenger Phil Paule, her opponent in the race for the 67th State Assembly District.
“In this race you have a choice,” Melendez said. “You can choose action over anger. You can choose between leadership and lawlessness. You can choose accomplishments over failure.
“The choice has never been so clear. I am the candidate with leadership experience and the one with a strong record of accomplishment. No one else in this race has a record ... well, not a voting record, anyway.”
The Melendez for Assembly GOP Headquarters is located at the Lake Elsinore Outlets, 17600 Collier Avenue, Suite B115, Lake Elsinore, California 92530.
According to the campaign, the facility will be staffed daily for the uses of phone banks and canvasses for the Melendez for Assembly campaign and other locally supported races, as well as voter registration drives.
