The legislator, whose 64th District currently includes parts of Lake Elsinore and Wildomar, is currently seeking entries through Nov. 15 for his "There Ought NOT to Be a Law" contest.

“That is such a stupid bill! What a waste of taxpayer money!”

Have you ever thought that? Apparently State Assemblyman Brian Nestande has.

“This contest encourages the community to be involved in the legislative process. Every year the California Legislature introduces thousands of ideas to create new laws. Many of these bills contribute to the over regulation of California, negatively affecting areas like education and business,” according to a news release from Nestande’s office this week.

"This year I would like to dedicate bills to repealing any laws that would help our state government be more efficient, save taxpayers money and improve our business climate," Nestande said in the news release.
