Calvert beat his Democratic contender by winning 61.36 percent of the vote.

With a significant treasure trove of campaign donations and a history with voters, Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Hemet) handily defeated opponent Michael Williamson in the contest for the 42nd Congressional District.

Calvert beat the Democratic contender by winning 61.36 percent of the vote.

Calvert has long-served in the 44th Congressional District but under redistricting will represent the swath of area known as the 42nd (see map), which stretches from Eastvale south to area near Temecula.

If the electorate had been informed by the media that Mr. Calvert has the distinction of being named the 4th most corrupt Member of the House would he still have won?
