Wildomar Appoints Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem

Marsha Swanson will serve as mayor; Ben Benoit will serve as mayor pro tem.

During the Dec. 22 Wildomar City Council meeting, mayor, mayor pro tem and planning commission appointments were decided.

Marsha Swanson was voted in unanimously as mayor, replacing Bridgette Moore who has served in the position since Jan. 1.

Ben Benoit was voted in unanimously as mayor pro tem, replacing Swanson who has served in the position since Jan. 1.

The city council appoints a mayor and mayor pro tem each December, with the effective date of appointment being January 1 of the following year. Swanson will serve as mayor, and Benoit as mayor pro tem, for the entire calendar year.

During the meeting, Stan Smith was appointed by Ben Benoit to serve on the city's planning commission. The council voted 5-0 to approve the appointment. Smith replaces Benoit on the commission.
