3 LEUSD Teachers Honored For Their Dedication

The Lake Elsinore Rotary Club honored three Lake Elsinore Unified School District teachers for their dedication and successes at the Teacher of the Month Program. October’s honorees are of Tracy Barackman of Cottonwood Canyon Elementary, Debbie Roeder of Wildomar Elementary and Lavon Lindstrom of Lusieño School.

Tracy Barackman of Cottonwood Canyon Elementary is the first grade team leader and leads the charge for the school’s “No Excuses College” program. Principal, Elizabeth Atkinson recognizes Tracy for her “outstanding leadership skills and tremendous heart for her students.” Tracy takes the initiative to lead in any task that she is given and is loved by her students.

Debbie Roeder has been teaching at Wildomar Elementary since 1986. Dr. Corene Barr, principal at Wildomar Elementary, notes that Debbie always takes the time to go the extra mile. Debbie’s accomplishments include coordinating activities for the students including Family Art Night and Math Night. She is dedicated to her first grade students and is recognized as an excellent teacher by her principal, fellow teachers and students’ parents.

Lavon Lindstrom, a second grade teacher at Lusieño School, is recognized for her many accomplishments, but most of all, her drive. Principal Susan Jones shares that Lavon’s competitive streak motivates her class to do their very best. Lavon’s students excel, whether it’s a reading program or a canned food drive, and they always come out on top. LeVon created the 100 Club, which recognizes students and their achievements over the school year, awarding them with medals for their efforts.

“Every month, I am in awe of the dedicated teachers we have right here in Lake Elsinore. They are an inspiration to us all,” said president of the Rotary Club of Lake Elsinore, Mary Brown.
