CHP Smart Start Driving Class

The next California Highway Patrol Start Smart class for teen drivers and their parents is Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Temecula Area CHP office.

The free two-hour class provides driver safety education targeting new and future licensed teenage drivers between the ages of 15-19, their parents, and guardians. The class is designed to help make teen drivers more aware of the responsibilities that accompany the privilege of being a licensed California driver.

During the class, CHP officers discuss traffic collision avoidance techniques, collision causational factors, driver/parent responsibilities, seatbelt usage, etc. Testimonials are provided by officers who have investigated fatal collisions involving teens, and the latest “Red Asphalt” video, which chronicles the aftermath of several teenage driver collisions, will be screened.
