Lake Elsinore, Wildomar Students Invited To Journalism Workshop

The 10-day course will be held at Point Loma Nazarene University.

Lake Elsinore and Wildomar students interested in a career in journalism were invited to apply for a free 10-day workshop.

The course, called the Multicultural Journalism Workshop, is scheduled for June 19-29 at Point Loma Nazarene University. The deadline to apply is April 15; applicants must live in San Diego, Riverside, San Bernardino or Imperial counties.

During the program, professional journalists are set to train high school juniors and seniors interested in working in newspapers, television and online publications. The students will stay in university dorms and work on either a student-run newspaper or a 30-minute television news broadcast.

An application can be downloaded by clicking here or by searching Facebook for the workshop’s page, “CCNMA-SanDiegoMulticulturalJournalismWorkshop.” Seniors will be given preference, but juniors and sophomores are encouraged to apply, she said.
