LEUSD Students Benefit When Shoppers Remember Lake Elsinore's Ashley Megan Bucklin

An Ashley's Closet open house kicks off Saturday.

Find that special gift for that someone special while at the same time contributing to Lake Elsinore Unified School District students during Saturday’s Ashley Megan Bucklin Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser.

The “Ashley’s Closet” event starts at 10 a.m. at 15083 Laurel Lane in Lake Elsinore.

Treasures for sale include a new line of Ashley’s favorite items, including purses, wallets, jewelry and accessories from Grace Adele, as well as scents and burners from the Scentsey line.

All proceeds go directly to the Ashley Megan Bucklin Memorial Scholarship fund.

Ashley graduated in 2005 from Temescal Canyon High School, but was killed a few months later in a tragic car accident just blocks from her family home.

Since her passing, Ashley's family has annually awarded scholarships in Ashley’s name to LEUSD grads. Click here to read about some of the past recipients.

Ashley had two passions in life: singing and aquatics, according to her dad, Bob Bucklin.

“To honor her spirit and enthusiasm, we established the Ashley Megan Bucklin
Memorial Scholarship Foundation to recognize outstanding seniors at all three Lake Elsinore High Schools who exhibit exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, inspiration and commitment to excellence in high school aquatics and singing programs,” he said.
