Local Community Colleges Fill 93 Percent Of All Seats Available To Students

The spring 2013 semester opened with 14,304 students filling 93 percent of the seats in the district overall.

Tuesday marked the first day of the 2013 spring semester at Mt. San Jacinto College campuses, and nearly all seats were taken, a college spokeswoman is reporting.

MSJC’s 1,700-square-mile district runs from Temecula to the San Gorgonio Pass, and classes for the spring 2013 semester opened with 14,304 students filling 93 percent of the seats in the district overall, said Karin Marriott, MSJC spokeswoman.

“The San Gorgonio Pass Campus saw 96 percent of its seats filled. At the Temecula Education Complex, 95 percent of the seats were taken. At the Menifee Valley Campus, 94 percent of the seats were filled and 91 percent of the seats at the San Jacinto Campus were taken. Online classes were nearly full at 96 percent,” Marriott said.
