Given statewide budget cuts, high dropout rates and new technologies, do you think online learning is the way of the future for public K-12 schools?

The Lake Elsinore Unified School District has touted success with its , which allows students to take classes via an Internet site fulltime.

Such instruction replaces traditional brick-and-mortar classrooms for students who are enrolled in the program.

Southern California Online Academy kicked off last year with a $100,000 operating budget and tuition is free. Teachers for the online program are fully credentialed, and the school meets state standards.
