Search Firm Hired To Find New LEUSD Superintendent

The governing board made the decision to bring on the Mission Viejo-based firm during a special meeting held Feb. 21.

Leadership Associates has been awarded a $25,500 fixed-price contract, according to a media advisory from the district.

“The rationale for hiring an executive search firm is twofold: the Governing Board wants the recruitment process to be transparent and impartial, which it feels an independent firm can best accomplish. Also, the Governing Board wanted to reassure staff that continuity of services can best be maintained using an outside firm to handle the workload of this critical recruitment,” the advisory read.

During the Feb. 21 special meeting, the board also heard from two other search firms, according to the advisory.

Under the contract with the LEUSD, Leadership Associates will meet “with community stakeholders to receive input on a recruitment profile for the district. Interviews with finalists could begin in early May, in order to seat the new Superintendent before July 1,” the advisory read.
