Chargers Game Blacked Out Sunday

The blackout is the second of the season.

Charger fans will have to listen to Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills on the radio or search for an Internet streaming site, because the game will not be televised in Southern California, the team announced Thursday.

The Chargers announced Tuesday that 5,500 tickets needed to be sold by early afternoon Thursday to avoid the NFL's blackout policy. In the two days since, only around 500 were bought.

The NFL requires all but the most expensive seats to be purchased by 72 hours before kickoff for the game to be shown on local television.

The league usually grants a 24-hour grace period if the team is close, and it was not, in this case.

The blackout is the second of the season. The first was Oct. 2 against Miami.
