Menifee’s Paloma Valley defeated Menifee’s Heritage, 5-4, in the day's last match-up. The Wildcats David Berg pitched a complete game, while Heritage’s Devin Owens -- who pitched well before tiring in the 5th -- took the loss.
Although a bench-clearing brawl was staved off, the day ended on an emotional note when the Wildcats coach was ejected from the game after he argued that the Heritage catcher unnecessarily blocked the plate on a potential run. Passions got the better of both teams as the game ensued: a Wildcat and two Heritage players were eventually tossed as well.
