Storm Baseball At Home Against 66ers Through Monday

Down one game, the Storm will battle at home against the Inland Empire 66ers through Monday.

After splitting a four game series in April against the Los Angeles Angels affiliate, the Storm again hosted the Inland Empire 66ers on Friday night, losing 8-3.

But Storm fans will see if the home team can make a comeback in this four-game series that runs through Monday, April 6.

During Friday's game, Storm starter RHP Colin Rea allowed a run in the first and two in the second while Inland Empire starter LHP Kramer Sneed retired the first eighth batters of the night and carried a one-hit shutout into the fourth.

Lake Elsinore made it a one-run game when Cory Spangenberg led off the bottom of the fourth with a single followed by a Luis Domoromo two-run home run, his second in as many games.

But Inland Empire responded with three runs in the fifth and two more in the seventh to stretch the lead to 8-2.

Lake Elsinore’s final run came in the ninth, when Lee Orr tripled off the left field wall and scored on Domoromo’s double to the warning track in left center. Domoromo now has six RBI’s in his last two games while stretching his hitting streak to five games.

The Storm continue their homestand on a Social Media Saturday as they send RHP Matt Jackson to the mound, facing 66ers RHP Dan Reynolds. First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
