The blood drive and bone marrow testing will take place at The Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., before the Storm's Aug. 18 game against the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. As part of the event, there will be food and each registrant will receive a ticket voucher to that night’s game along with a free t-shirt.

"Luckily we caught Bryce's disorder at an early age," said Chris Jones. "We want to educate people about the importance of joining the bone marrow registry and donating blood so other patients like Bryce can get the help they need to survive."

Anyone between the ages of 18 and 60, who is in good health, may be eligible to join the National Marrow Donor Program registry as a volunteer donor. The blood test to join the registry involves a very small blood sample and just a few minutes. “There is no substitute for donated blood,” said Jackie Vella, Director of the San Diego Blood Bank Foundation. “No matter how advanced the hospital or skilled the physician, if the donated blood a patient needs is not available, his or her life might not be saved. We are extremely grateful to Storm Baseball for hosting The Storm Blood Drive.”
