Storm Baseball's Massive Freeway Sign To Light Up Beginning In August

The digital, 55-foot-tall sign will be visible to both north- and southbound motorists who travel the 15 Freeway through Lake Elsinore.

The Lake Elsinore Storm, in partnership with General Outdoor Advertising, is currently building a digital highway sign north of the Diamond Drive exit on the west side of the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore. The sign will feature the world famous Storm eyes logo, which makes this the first digital highway board with a team-branded icon connected to the sign.

“We are excited to soon turn on Lake Elsinore’s newest big screen TV to help promote our games and events,” said Storm President Dave Oster. “One of our biggest hurdles in this area is letting people know when our games are and what we have going on at the ballpark. This should help us reach the over 100,000 cars that drive past the sign every day.”

The highway sign will be visible both north- and southbound on the 15 Freeway and will promote Storm games and events. Rotating promotional spots will also be available for area businesses to purchase advertising. The sign will stand approximately 55’ tall and the digital display area will be 14’ tall by 48’ in length. The Storm eyes, which will light up, will stand 5’ tall and be 16’ wide and be placed on top of the sign.

“We really think the Storm eyes will make the digital board stand out and be unique as there is nothing else like it,” said Tim Lynch, vice president/owner of General Outdoor Advertising. “We really are excited to partner with the City of Lake Elsinore and the Storm and feel by working with the local sports team we will be able to create some fun and different promotional opportunities. This new partnership will allow us to both brand through the sign and activate in the stadium our sponsor’s message”

The base of the sign will continue to be constructed this week and the digital board will be hung the following week with plans that it will be operational by the week of August 12. The digital sign will also offer promotional spots for the City of Lake Elsinore to promote community events and messages year round.  -- The above was contributed by the Lake Elsinore Storm.
