Temescal Canyon Alum Returns Home As Head Coach

Temescal Canyon High School alum Eddie Thomas is the new head coach of the Lady Titans Basketball program.

Temescal Canyon High School alum Eddie Thomas has been tapped as head coach of the Lady Titans Basketball program, it was announced Thursday.

Athletic Director Mark Williams made the announcement, just in time for Summer League Basketball tryouts that begin today at Temescal Canyon High School.

Thomas returns to his alma mater where as a senior he was captain of the Titans basketball team. After graduating from the University of California, Los Angeles, he accepted an assistant coaching position under Williams within the Titans Boys’ Basketball program, according to Thursday’s announcement.

Thomas later accepted a teaching position at Corona High School and moved on to coach within their Boys’ Basketball program. He will step down from his coaching duties at Corona in order to assume his new role at Temescal Canyon, but will remain in his current teaching assignment, according to the announcement.   

Summer League tryouts are being conducted today through Saturday in Temescal Canyon’s Thunderdome gym. Freshman tryouts will be held from 3 - 5 p.m. Friday, and 12 - 2 p.m. Saturday. Junior varsity and varsity tryouts will follow from 5 - 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 - 4 p.m. Saturday.
