'Thunder In The Channel' Rocking Lake Elsinore

The National Jet Boat Association’s Thunder in the Channel 4 revved up Friday as "test and tune" trials got underway on Lake Elsinore in preparation for Saturday’s elimination races and Sunday’s finals.

Thunder in the Channel showcases the sport of side-by-side drag boat racing, with watercraft ranging "from the old family ski boats converted into race boats to modern top fuel" types, said Mike DeClark, president of the NJBA.

“This race allows us to reintroduce the extreme sport of drag boat racing,” DeClark said.
